The first half of 2026 brought more recruitment activity to Poland’s IT job market, but also intense competition for entry-level roles. According to a new report by No Fluff Jobs, Backend remained the largest category, accounting for nearly one-fifth of the market. Across all IT categories, each junior-level vacancy attracted an average of 47 CVs, compared with 24 for mid-level positions and 19 for senior roles. ERP specialists commanded the highest salaries, with the median upper salary range reaching PLN 33,600 net plus VAT on a B2B contract. Python was the most frequently requested programming language, appearing in 21.6% of job listings — an increase of almost 10 percentage points over four and a half years.

The favourable trend in the IT job market is continuing. The growth in the number of job advertisements observed last year has been sustained, with job availability between January and May 2026 averaging 70% higher than in the same months of the previous year, according to the latest Career in IT 2026 report published by No Fluff Jobs, Poland’s largest job portal featuring salary ranges in job listings.

“The first half of 2026 shows that the IT labour market has entered a phase of mature stability, with a clear focus on efficiency. While the overall number of job offers is growing, which is very good news for candidates, the structure of this growth is changing. Employers’ expectations are rising in line with the salaries they are prepared to offer for top roles in areas such as ERP and AI,” says Paulina Król, Chief People and Operations Officer at No Fluff Jobs.

“We are dealing with a two-speed market. On the one hand, there is fierce competition for senior professionals with unique architectural and business expertise. On the other, people at the beginning of their careers face a major barrier to entry. The key to maintaining the growth momentum of Poland’s technology sector will now be the effective development of mentoring programmes and the successful integration of young talent into the realities of the AI era.”

Up to 146 CVs for a Single Junior Frontend Vacancy

Backend retained its position as the undisputed market leader, accounting for 17.5% of all job listings. Data & Business Intelligence ranked second, with a 12% share of the market. The share of AI-related vacancies is also increasing, although not as dynamically as might be expected given the pace of development and adoption of the technology.

At the same time, the share of Frontend job advertisements continues to decline. In 2024, listings for developers responsible for building user interfaces accounted for 5% of all offers on No Fluff Jobs. In the first half of 2026, their share fell to 3.4%.

This downward trend has been visible for several years, although Frontend remains the area that attracts the greatest interest among people seeking to start a career in IT. On average, a single junior Frontend vacancy receives as many as 146 applications.

By comparison, junior-level job advertisements across all IT categories attract an average of 47 applicants. Mid-level vacancies receive 24 applications on average, while senior job offers attract an average of 19 candidates.

AI Drives Python’s Growing Popularity

The highest salaries in the sector during the first half of 2026 were offered to ERP experts. The median upper salary range for senior professionals reached PLN 33,600 net plus VAT on a B2B contract. IT Architecture ranked second, with upper salary ranges reaching PLN 31,900 net plus VAT on B2B contracts.

There was also a change among the third-best-paid specialisations. After the first quarter of this year, Security and DevOps occupied those positions. They have now been overtaken by Fullstack roles, offering up to PLN 30,200 net plus VAT on a B2B contract, and AI roles, offering up to PLN 30,100 net plus VAT on a B2B contract.

Among programming languages requested by employers, Python remains the clear leader, appearing in 21.6% of job advertisements. This represents an increase of almost 8 percentage points over the past four and a half years. The growth is being driven primarily by the expansion of AI and automation.

SQL has maintained a stable position, appearing in 20.3% of offers. It is frequently required in data-intensive categories such as Data & Business Intelligence, Backend, Business Analysis and Testing. Java, meanwhile, is losing importance year by year, although it still appears in 16.1% of job listings.

“The growing popularity of Python and the strong salary positions of Fullstack and AI specialisations are a direct result of the market’s increasing business maturity. Companies have stopped treating artificial intelligence as a technological curiosity and have begun implementing it at scale across their products and operations,” Paulina Król says.

“From an organisational management perspective, this means a profound shift in team structures. The traditional division into narrow specialisations is becoming less distinct, in favour of versatile professionals who can connect the dots between backend development, frontend development and data analysis.”
