Cybersecurity, AI, machine learning, and software development are currently the IT areas with the highest demand for specialists, according to the “Salary and Labor Market Trends Review 2025” by Michael Page. Despite facing emerging challenges, the IT sector continues to be attractive and popular, particularly in Poland where technical fields remain in high demand ensuring a constant influx of talents into the market. However, companies are now giving up on less experienced employees and focusing more on experts in their fields.
Modern technology experts in demand
Within IT, the areas revealing the highest demand for specialists include machine learning and software development. There is also a rising demand for skills in integrating AI technology into existing organizational systems and securing infrastructure against cybersecurity threats. Managers adept in FinOps are also sought after due to their ability to manage and optimize cloud costs, which include infrastructure maintenance, license and subscription fees, data migrations, and technical support.
However, experts from Michael Page have noted that the unfavorable industry climate is forcing companies to rely on highly experienced specialists with expert knowledge, which results in fewer recruitments compared to previous years.
IT still popular among the youth
According to the “Salary and Labor Market Trends Review 2025”, technical studies continue to be highly popular in Poland. The steady number of graduates from these fields ensures a steady inflow of fresh talent into the IT labor market.
But the current situation forces candidates to choose wisely between job offers or demand for remote work and additional benefits. Nonetheless, data processing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity continue to expand, and the demand for specialists in these fields remains high or is increasing.
How much do you earn in IT?
Salaries in IT remain stable, with increases observed in the most desired areas such as AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity. For example, a Security Engineer can currently expect a gross salary within the range of 18-25k zł, a Data Engineer – 20-30k zł, a Machine Learning Engineer – 23-30k zł while a Cloud Engineer can earn from 25k up to even 31k zł gross. It’s worth mentioning that companies are willing to pay more for highly qualified specialists.
Salaries are complemented by additional benefits such as medical care or a MultiSport card. The opportunity for professional development, including training and certification provided by the employer, is especially important for those specializing in a cloud environment. Flexibility in terms of remote work and working hours is another key value for IT employees, especially for those holding independent positions.
