Apple is preparing to launch iOS 27. The system is due to reach users this autumn, with unofficial expectations pointing to mid-September. The biggest change will be a heavily redesigned Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. However, iPhone users in Poland and other European Union countries will not get Siri AI when the system launches. Apple has officially confirmed that the feature will be delayed in the EU and has not provided a release date.
Apple unveiled iOS 27 at WWDC 2026. The company describes the new Siri as a much more advanced assistant designed to hold more natural conversations, use personal context and operate more deeply across the system and apps.
iOS 27 could arrive in mid-September
Apple currently says only that iOS 27 will be released in the autumn. Technology media have pointed to mid-September as a likely window, including 14 September, but that date has not been officially confirmed by the company.
The exact timetable for the public release of the final version therefore remains open. Apple traditionally provides more detail on software launch dates around its September hardware events.
Poland will not get Siri AI on iPhone at launch
For Polish users, the more important issue is access to the new artificial-intelligence functions. Apple has officially confirmed that Siri AI will initially be unavailable in the European Union in iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and watchOS 27. The restriction therefore includes Poland.
The company links the decision to requirements under the EU Digital Markets Act. Apple says it currently has no timetable for making Siri AI available on iPhones and iPads in the EU.
According to Apple, the issue concerns how to provide competing virtual assistants with access to system functions while maintaining privacy and data protections. The company says it is continuing discussions with European regulators.
Siri AI will be available on Macs in the EU
The situation is not identical across all Apple devices. EU users will be able to use Siri AI on Macs running macOS 27 and on devices with visionOS 27, provided the relevant hardware and language requirements are met.
Apple says Siri AI will be able to handle more complex questions, conduct more natural conversations and make use of context. The redesigned assistant is expected to be one of the central components of the broader Apple Intelligence strategy.
Not every iPhone will get the AI features
There is another limitation: hardware. Apple says Apple Intelligence and Siri AI require an iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max, or a model from the iPhone 16 family or newer. Receiving the iOS 27 update therefore does not automatically mean access to every AI-powered feature.
In practice, this year’s launch will be split in two. Users will receive the new iOS version, but the most anticipated part of the update — the redesigned Siri — will be restricted both geographically and by hardware. In Poland and the rest of the EU, iPhone owners will have to wait for the regulatory issues surrounding the DMA to be resolved.
