Greater Poland remains one of Poland’s most important economic and logistics regions, with its location supporting trade with Western Europe. Growing transport demand is also visible in the performance of DACHSER’s Poznań branch, which is reporting double-digit volume growth in 2026 and planning a move to a new site in 2029.

Andrzej Waszczuk, head of DACHSER’s Poznań branch, told Newseria that the first half of 2026 was exceptionally strong for logistics, with shipment volumes frequently exceeding last year’s seasonal peak levels.

The branch’s expansion reflects broader changes in the regional economy. Greater Poland benefits from developed road infrastructure and a location on the main east-west corridor linking Poland with Germany and other Western European markets.

CBRE data cited in the report show that 309,000 sq m of warehouse space was leased in Greater Poland in the first quarter of 2026. Efficient road freight is particularly important for companies operating in the region because it supports both domestic distribution and regular international trade.

The A2 motorway provides a direct link with central and western Poland and Germany. According to Statistics Poland, Germany accounted for 26.5% of Polish exports in the first half of 2026, remaining Poland’s largest export market. Exports to Germany increased by 1.9% year on year to PLN 215.1 billion.

DACHSER representatives say customer expectations have also changed. Delivery times remain important, but businesses increasingly value comprehensive logistics services and consistency across the supply chain.

DACHSER has operated in Poland since 2006. It started with four branches and 70 employees and now has 10 branches employing more than 700 people. In 2025, the Polish network handled 2.2 million shipments and generated consolidated net revenue of PLN 903.7 million.

The company says many customers that once shipped only small volumes to European markets have grown into major exporters. This development has increased demand for more advanced and scalable logistics services.

DACHSER expects Greater Poland to strengthen its position as one of Poland’s key logistics centres, supported by industrial growth, export activity and continued investment in transport infrastructure.
