GoodMills Polska has completed a major expansion of its milling facility in Kutno, marking a significant milestone in the company’s development strategy. The €25.1 million investment has enabled the company to double the plant’s production capacity, making it the largest facility in the GoodMills Group and one of the biggest flour mills in Poland.
Increased Milling Power and Expanded Infrastructure
The new wheat milling line, launched at the facility on Chopina Street 29, has boosted the plant’s daily milling capacity from 440 to 880 tonnes. This translates to an annual output of approximately 280,000 tonnes. As a result of this expansion, the total production capacity of GoodMills Polska has increased from 640,000 to 780,000 tonnes per year.
The project included the construction of new production spaces and related infrastructure. Notably, the flour silos were expanded from a capacity of 960 tonnes to 4,060 tonnes, and the flour loading system’s throughput increased from 25 to 100 tonnes per hour. These improvements aim to enhance logistics efficiency and better serve industrial customers.
Cutting-Edge Technological Solutions
The new milling line was developed using advanced technologies from the Swiss company Bühler, a renowned player in the milling industry. As a result, both production lines at the Kutno plant are technologically unified, which benefits workflow management and quality assurance.
The facility also features newly established grain and flour laboratories, equipped with Poland’s first automatic sample collection system by Phaeton. Additionally, administrative and social spaces were modernized as part of the investment.
Environmental and Safety Enhancements
Environmental efficiency and sustainability were key considerations in the expansion. Heat generated by compressors is used to warm the laboratory, and a new rainwater collection tank has been installed on-site.
Security has also been significantly upgraded. The facility is now equipped with a monitoring system that includes thermal imaging cameras and software capable of detecting human presence along the perimeter. Fire safety measures have also been enhanced, including the installation of a new water tank and hydrant network.
Local Economic Impact
The expansion has also brought economic benefits to the Kutno area. The workforce at the facility has increased from 45 to 56 employees. GoodMills Polska continues to collaborate with local subcontractors and suppliers, strengthening its role in the regional labor market and logistics infrastructure.
Future Investment Plans
GoodMills Polska has announced plans for a new investment: the construction of a fifth mill in Poland, this time in the eastern part of the country. According to company executives, preparations for this project are already at an advanced stage.
