ECONOMYGermany’s Manufacturing PMI Hits Highest Level Since 2022

The June reading of the German Manufacturing PMI came in at 49.0 points, slightly above expectations of 48.9 points.

This marks the highest level since 2022, signaling a notable improvement and approaching the symbolic threshold of 50 points, which typically indicates a shift toward economic recovery.

A more pronounced surprise came from Germany’s Services PMI, which reached 49.4 points, outperforming both the forecast of 47.8 and the previous reading of 47.1. This indicates a faster-than-expected rebound in the services sector.

In the euro area, the Manufacturing PMI fell slightly short of expectations, posting 49.4 points compared to the forecast of 49.6. Meanwhile, the Services PMI met expectations precisely at 50.0 points, signaling stagnation in that sector.
