COMPANIESGaming Factory Reports Q1 2025 Results and Strong Launch of JDM: Japanese Drift Master

Polish video game developer and publisher Gaming Factory has released its financial results for Q1 2025 and shared the early performance metrics of its most important title to date, JDM: Japanese Drift Master. Since its release on May 21, the game has sold over 73,000 copies, generating more than $1.4 million in net revenue, primarily through Steam.

Financial Overview – Q1 2025

From January to March 2025, Gaming Factory S.A. reported:

  • Net revenue: PLN 0.88 million
  • EBITDA: PLN 0.27 million
  • Net loss: PLN 0.4 million

The loss was attributed to continued investment in the development and marketing of JDM.

“We focused on what matters most—quality and market potential. Today, it’s clear that was the right call. JDM: Japanese Drift Master is not just a commercial success—it’s a strategic breakthrough for us,” said Mateusz Adamkiewicz, CEO of Gaming Factory.
“The game proves that our team can deliver globally relevant titles with long-term monetization potential. Early revenue from JDM has already surpassed our total for 2024. That’s a strong indicator for future performance.”

Launch Success of JDM: Japanese Drift Master

Released on May 21, 2025, on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, the game had achieved:

  • $1.4 million+ net revenue
  • 73,000+ units sold
  • 64,000+ copies sold on Steam
  • Payback of total development and marketing costs expected within weeks

On launch day, JDM made it to Steam’s global bestseller list, with the game gaining over 850,000 wishlists. At peak, 4,000+ concurrent players were recorded, and the ad campaign reached 6.5 million views. The title earned a “Mostly Positive” rating (73% positive) from more than 1,500 reviews.

Global Reach and Sales

The largest share of sales came from the United States (20%), followed by Japan, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Poland. Asian marketing efforts are led by international publisher 4Divinity, part of the GCL Asia group.

Development Roadmap and Future Plans

Gaming Factory plans to expand the game with:

  • Regular updates
  • Console versions (launch expected in late 2025 or early 2026)
  • New features, including:
    • Additional cars and tuning parts
    • Photo mode
    • AI improvements
    • Side missions and optimizations based on community feedback

The total production cost up to April 2025 was PLN 10.82 million, while the marketing budget remained under PLN 1 million. A significant portion of development expenses (PLN 5.88 million) was covered by the international publishing partner through advance payments.

“The success of JDM: Japanese Drift Master reflects years of development and a strategic shift within the company. The market is becoming more demanding, but we’ve proven we can compete globally. This is just the beginning,” added Adamkiewicz.
“Console versions are already in the works, and we’re continuously improving the current version to attract more players. Our goal is to turn JDM into a longseller. We’ve gained nearly 100,000 new wishlists since launch, and we see that as a critical opportunity for future monetization.”
