During the meeting of Prime Minister Donald Tusk with representatives of entrepreneurs and the business environment, many important topics about deregulation and investments were addressed. Discussions also touched on improving logistics – not only logistics related to maritime transport, but also rail or road transport. There was talk of modern technologies, of the link between science and the ability to commercialize inventions. However, the key issue will be deregulation – a way to fulfill one of the significant points mentioned in the report of Mario Draghi, who said that if Europe is to be competitive, it also has to get rid of some of the regulations that are excessive or unnecessary. There are many European regulations that define certain boundaries – however, it depends on the national legislator in what way and in what form they will be implemented and introduced into life. Very often in Poland, there is an overly restrictive approach of officials and politicians – as a result, regulations arise, which are much tougher than the minimum required by the European Union.
“For me, the motto and the key word to the meeting of Prime Minister Donald Tusk with business is the word ‘finally’. We finally have a new opening addressed to entrepreneurs,” said Wojciech Kostrzewa, President of the Polish Business Council, to eNewsroom.pl. “The Prime Minister decided to invite us to dialogue, he made very important declarations. He will meet with us regularly – this has not happened in the past. He will listen to our voice because he trusts us. And I think that the appointment of President Brzoska – this is a brave move forward, which shows that we can have something to say, and we can also suggest in a simple way what can be improved, guided by the common sense of an entrepreneur. I am convinced that together we will support Rafał in his great task – because it is also a chance for us, as those who build and develop the Polish economy. The declared almost 700 billion PLN of investments will certainly be the driving wheel of the economy – although the readiness to invest by domestic entrepreneurs will decide. We hope that the government and the parliamentary majority will offer stability, but also the fulfillment of boundary conditions – such as the price of energy. We have long demanded that the official, the politician does not limit our competitiveness and that the actual implementation of European regulations is kept to a minimum – giving us a free hand in competing for the same 450 million consumer market throughout the European Union,” Wojciech Kostrzewa points out.
