Eurorent Sp. z o.o., the owner of SIXT Poland, has finalized the acquisition of SIXT Slovakia, expanding its portfolio to include another key market in Central and Eastern Europe. With this acquisition, SIXT Poland has taken responsibility for operations in both countries. Strategically, the acquisition of SIXT Slovakia is a significant step toward establishing a regional leadership position in the car rental industry.
This strategic move opens up new opportunities for the SIXT brand in mobility management across the Central and Eastern European region. By analyzing customer preferences in both countries, the company can effectively differentiate its offerings and adapt to the unique characteristics of each market. Car segment popularity varies between the two countries, necessitating flexible fleet management while creating a unique opportunity to maximize resource utilization. The integration of operations across both markets also enables better management of seasonal demand fluctuations, resulting in improved operational efficiency and cost optimization.

Recent data highlights notable differences in customer preferences and behaviors between the two markets, presenting both challenges and opportunities for innovation. In Poland, 89% of customers returning a rental vehicle choose a location within the country. In contrast, Slovakia sees a dominance of cross-border reservations, with 61% of rentals ending outside the country—Vienna being the most popular destination, accounting for 33% of reservations.
The acquisition of SIXT Slovakia, completed in September 2024, represents not only strategic expansion for Eurorent but also an opportunity to further develop services that address the growing needs of the international market. As a result, SIXT is solidifying its position as a mobility leader in Central and Eastern Europe, ready to meet the demands of customers both domestically and internationally.
