Cisco announced the appointment of Chintan Patel as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
Previously serving as Cisco’s CTO for the UK and Ireland, Patel will now oversee Cisco’s technology strategy and implementation across the EMEA region. He will also strengthen relationships with key customers and partners, while collaborating with industry stakeholders and academia to identify emerging trends and technologies. This role aligns with Cisco’s mission to revolutionize how organizations connect and protect themselves in the era of artificial intelligence.
As CTO, Patel will lead the Solutions Engineering (SE) community across EMEA and work with global product development teams to design solutions tailored to the region’s unique needs. These include building AI-ready data centers and enhancing digital resilience.

Nearly Two Decades of Experience at Cisco
Chintan Patel has been with Cisco for almost 20 years, gaining experience in engineering, customer engagement, and corporate strategy. A technology advocate, Patel is well-known among Cisco clients, industry leaders, government entities, and academia.
Patel is an active member of Tech UK and other industry organizations, representing Cisco in discussions about digital and engineering skills development. He also serves as a trustee on the board of FutureDotNow, a coalition of industry leaders focused on closing the digital skills gap among the UK’s workforce.
