CI Games has announced a revised development schedule for Lords of the Fallen II. The action RPG is now expected to launch in the first quarter of 2027. The company said the additional time will be used to further refine the game, integrate new ideas and continue testing with experienced players from the soulslike genre.
According to the company, the development team has been working with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a group of veteran soulslike players operating within the Launch Creative Team. Feedback from these testers, combined with the developers’ creative vision, has contributed to new concepts intended to broaden and deepen the experience offered by the sequel.
CI Games said the extended production period will allow the team to implement improvements more effectively and carry out further iterations across individual elements of the game. The objective is to deliver a title that is complete, polished and aligned with the expectations of fans of dark fantasy worlds and demanding action RPG gameplay from day one.
“Additional integration, further iterations and more time will allow us to maximise the benefits of the improvements being introduced. As a result, our team will deliver a complete, polished game of the highest quality at launch,” the company said.
The revised release date also has a business dimension. Launching in the first quarter of 2027 is expected to help the game avoid the intense competition for players’ and media attention typically seen during the holiday season, when many high-budget titles reach the market. CI Games believes that releasing outside this crowded window should improve the game’s chances of reaching its audience more effectively.
The company added that the positive reception of recently revealed materials related to Lords of the Fallen II has strengthened the team’s motivation. Further updates on the production are expected in the coming months.
