The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has unanimously approved the appointment of Cezary Stypułkowski as the CEO of Bank Pekao S.A.

The new head of Bank Pekao is a manager with several decades of experience in top positions. For the last several years (2010-2024), he served as the CEO of mBank. From 2006-2010, he worked at J.P. Morgan in London, where, since 2007, he had been the Managing Director of the investment bank J.P. Morgan for Central and Eastern Europe. Earlier, from 2003-2006, he served as the CEO of PZU, and from 1991-2003, he led the board of the Commercial Bank S.A. in Warsaw.

In October 2024, Stypułkowski joined the Board of the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in Washington, the most important global financial industry organization, representing nearly 500 of the largest entities from over 60 countries. Since 2012, he has been the Co-chairman of the Emerging Markets Advisory Council at the IIF. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Warsaw. He is a Fulbright scholar and studied at Columbia University’s Business School.

The Supervisory Board of Bank Pekao elected Cezary Stypułkowski as president effective from 5th October 2024, subject to the approval of the Commission.

From the 5th of October until receiving the approval of the KNF, Cezary Stypułkowski was the vice president, managing the work of the Bank Pekao management board.
