ENERGYAxpo Polska to buy energy from DIF Capital Partners' wind farms

Axpo Polska has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for energy generated from six wind farms in Poland, owned by DIF Capital Partners. The total installed capacity of the farms is 171 MW, and their annual production of green energy is estimated at about 500 GWh. The signed agreement anticipates settlement on the spot market, purchase of origin guarantees, and balance services provisions.

In cooperation with DIF Capital Partners, a company managing infrastructure funds based in the Netherlands, Axpo will receive power from all of DIF Capital Partners’ wind farms in Poland. The agreement includes a settlement on the spot market, purchase of origin guarantees, and provision of balancing services. Konrad Kosicki, partner in charge of energy and natural resources practices at the Warsaw office of Greenberg Traurig, assisted with negotiations between the parties on behalf of Axpo.

“Poland can boast significant potential in the field of onshore wind energy, which is why we are pleased to see another investor who is interested in developing activities in this area in the Polish market. I appreciate that DIF Capital Partners decided to trust our knowledge and international experience,” says Mateusz Marczewski, director for institutional clients at Axpo Polska.

Operating in Poland for over 20 years, Axpo has become one of the largest independent green energy recipients in the country. The newly signed contract further strengthens this position. The agreement includes six wind farms located in the provinces of Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Podlaskie, and Greater Poland.
