Volkswagen management is preparing to recommend ending production at four German plants between 2031 and 2034, according to WirtschaftsWoche. The plan would affect Emden, Zwickau, Hanover and Neckarsulm as Europe’s largest carmaker intensifies its restructuring drive.

China has issued new guidelines for automakers expanding overseas, urging them to avoid disruptive price competition and frequent sharp price changes. The rules also cover dealers, data security, antitrust compliance, labour standards and intellectual property.

Tesla has released new European safety data for Full Self-Driving (Supervised), saying cars using the system were 4.1 times less likely to be involved in a collision than manually driven Teslas. The disclosure comes ahead of a possible EU-wide approval vote in October.
