Signify, the global lighting leader listed on Euronext under the symbol “LIGHT,” has announced that As Tempelman will become the company’s new CEO starting September 1, 2025, pending his appointment to the Board of Management. Until then, Željko Kosanović will serve as interim CEO. An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) to approve Tempelman’s nomination is scheduled for July 2025.
“We are pleased to nominate As Tempelman as the next CEO of Signify. His vision, energy, and proven track record in delivering sustainable development goals—while shaping a high-performance and inclusive culture—make him the natural choice to lead Signify into the future,” said Gerard van de Aast, Chairman of Signify’s Supervisory Board.
Tempelman expressed enthusiasm about joining the company:
“With over 130 years of history, Signify has always been a pioneer. The innovation, passion, and sense of purpose that define this company are extraordinary—that’s what attracted me here. I’m very excited to join the team. Looking ahead, I believe there is a real opportunity for growth: to build on existing strengths, explore new opportunities, and continue to lead the lighting industry and beyond, improving the lives of people and communities around the world.”
As Tempelman currently serves as CEO of Eneco, a sustainable energy company operating in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the UK. Under his leadership, Eneco achieved ambitious business and climate goals, tripling its profitability since 2020 while reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions by 40%. Prior to joining Eneco, he held senior executive roles at Shell, working across markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders will take place in July 2025, during which shareholders will vote on Tempelman’s appointment to the board.
