On March 12, 2026, Akces NCBR signed a cooperation agreement with the National Science Centre (NCN) aimed at strengthening support for scientists developing projects based on research results and building a coherent pathway from research to technology and market-ready solutions.

Akces NCBR’s acceleration programs provide tangible support to Polish researchers in transforming scientific results into solutions with market potential. Thanks to its experience in technology development and working with startups, Akces NCBR helps research teams navigate one of the most challenging stages—translating research outcomes into technologies ready for further development and commercialization.

Within Poland’s innovation support ecosystem, there are numerous instruments financing scientific research. However, the intermediate stage remains a key challenge—the point at which a research project requires business, technological, and market competencies to become a viable commercial solution. This is precisely the gap that Akces NCBR’s acceleration programs are designed to fill.

The agreement with NCN strengthens another link in the innovation support chain—from research funding, through technology development, to preparing projects for market implementation and further scaling.

First tangible outcome of the cooperation

One of the first results of the agreement will be the introduction of preferential scoring for scientific projects in the upcoming call for applications to the Horizontal Scientific Impact Program (Impakt), implemented by Akces NCBR.

This solution will grant additional points to teams developing technologies based on research funded by NCN, enabling them to further develop their projects within Akces NCBR’s acceleration programs.

The call for applications to the Impakt program will begin at the end of March. Its goal is to support teams working on projects based on scientific research and development activities, guiding them toward building technologies with implementation and market potential.

Science as a source of innovation
