In recent years, the IT industry has seen a clear rise in recruitment for Data & BI, DevOps, and Business Analysis, while the availability of software development roles has declined—especially in Frontend, which remains the most popular specialization among job candidates. As an IT labor-market expert points out, this is a stark example of how the growth of AI technologies is reshaping the industry. The market is stabilizing—but primarily for the most experienced professionals.

Among developers looking for work, Frontend has been the most sought-after specialization for years. However, the availability of job offers in this category has been steadily decreasing for several years, according to an analysis by No Fluff Jobs, Poland’s largest job portal that includes salary ranges in job ads. In 2022, Frontend postings accounted for 11.4% of the offers published on the platform. In 2023, their share fell to 6%, in 2024 to 5%, and in 2025 it reached 4%.

“The simplest answer to the declining share of Frontend roles on the job market is the development of artificial intelligence—but that’s only part of the truth,” says Tomasz Bujok, CEO of No Fluff Jobs. “Another factor is that the entry barrier to this category was very low for years, which is why we saw an explosion of courses and bootcamps that trained people for it in a short time. As a result, there is now an oversupply of Frontend developers on the market. And because many Fullstack specialists have similar competencies, companies—seeking savings and headcount reductions—have opted for the latter, more versatile profiles. Today, a single Frontend job ad still receives on average nearly 80 CVs. The low availability of postings, declining for years, should be a warning signal for people who see their future strictly in this specialization.”

More hiring in non-programming IT roles

Since 2022, the Backend category has also recorded a decline in available job offers, though on a much smaller scale. The share of Backend ads has stabilized at around 20% and continues to represent the area of greatest demand among Polish employers for programming-related roles. In Fullstack, the situation has remained stable for years, accounting for roughly 10% of job offers on No Fluff Jobs. At the same time, there is a clear increase in hiring availability in non-programming IT specializations—especially Data & BI, DevOps, and Business Analysis. Recruitment in the AI category is growing more slowly than one might expect—by only 1 percentage point year on year.

The market is stabilizing, but there are few roles for beginners

Hard skills still dominate IT requirements, particularly those related to systems architecture management, cybersecurity, data analysis, and software engineering. The most frequently listed skills are Python (23% of postings), SQL (22%), and Java (18.5%)—core tools for many Backend and Fullstack developers as well as data analysts. Over the past year, the number of recruitments requiring familiarity with tools such as Spring (+4 pp), RestAPI (+2.7 pp), SQL (+1.9 pp), and React (+1.7 pp) increased.

“Last year’s rebound in the IT job market does not resemble the pandemic-era boom—instead of a ‘gold rush,’ we now have a period of stabilization and high expectations. That’s great news for experienced specialists, but it remains a major challenge for those taking their first steps in the industry, who are targeted by only one in twenty job offers. For comparison, in 2022 as many as 15% of postings on No Fluff Jobs were for junior positions,” says Tomasz Bujok, CEO of No Fluff Jobs.
