ADEO, the group behind Leroy Merlin, is launching the second edition of its ALL ADEO employee share ownership programme. The company will allocate €108 million worth of shares free of charge to around 115,000 employees in 12 countries, including approximately 12,000 people working for Leroy Merlin in Poland.

The programme was introduced in September 2025 with the support of Association Familiale Mulliez, ADEO’s family shareholder. Its mechanism allows employees to receive shares when the group’s financial results make such an allocation possible.

The value of the shares awarded under the programme is the same for eligible employees regardless of country, position or level within the organisation.

Second edition follows 2025 results

After the first edition, ADEO decided to continue the programme. The group says its 2025 financial performance made another allocation possible, with the value of shares distributed in the second edition reaching €108 million.

ALL ADEO forms part of a broader employee participation model designed to give staff a direct stake in the long-term value created by the company.

Thomas Bouret, president of ADEO, said the programme complements existing profit-sharing schemes and allows employees to participate more directly in the value generated by the group.

About 12,000 employees in Poland are included

In Poland, the programme will cover around 12,000 Leroy Merlin employees working across stores, warehouses and offices. That makes Poland one of the larger national groups participating in the scheme.

For companies, employee ownership programmes can serve several purposes at once: they can strengthen retention, align employees with long-term company performance and supplement traditional pay and bonus systems. Their significance has grown as large employers compete not only on salary but also on broader benefits and participation in value creation.

Matthieu Pihery, CEO of Leroy Merlin Poland, said the programme gives employees the opportunity to become shareholders of the group and participate in its results.

The new allocation comes at a time when many European employers are looking for ways to strengthen long-term employee engagement. In that context, ADEO’s decision to extend the programme to tens of thousands of staff across multiple markets gives employee share ownership a more visible role in the group’s compensation and retention strategy.
